Her Honor Mrs. Stephane Jackson-Haisley has been a Resident Magistrate at the Corporate Area Criminal Resident Magistrate’s Court in Jamaica since October 2007. She was previously a prosecutor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions where she held the position of Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions and was responsible for prosecuting in all the courts throughout the island of Jamaica.

Prior to that she held the post of Clerk of the Courts also at the Corporate Area Criminal Resident Magistrate’s Court. She was the first prosecutor assigned to the Drug Treatment Court in Kingston, Jamaica. She is now the presiding Judge of the Kingston Drug Treatment Court and has been engaged in promoting the concept of Drug Treatment Courts since 2008. She has made several presentations on Drug Treatment Courts in Jamaica, the Caribbean and in the United States of America. She has written a publication titled “The Drug Treatment Court Concept: The Jamaican Drug Treatment Courts” for the World Bank Development Working Paper Series.

Her Honor Mrs. Jackson-Haisley enjoys teaching and she is an associate tutor at the Norman Manley Law School. She also lectures at the Justice Training Institute and conducts guest lectures at the Jamaica Police Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of the West Indies and a Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School.
