National Commission

The Costa Rican Drug Institute (ICD) is the national drug authority in Costa Rica, established in 2002 and attached to the Ministry of the Presidency. The Board of Directors is the highest decision-making body of the National Authority and is made up of:
- The Minister or the Deputy Minister of the Presidency.
- The Minister or Deputy Minister of Public Security and Government.
- The Minister or the Deputy Minister of Public Education.
- The Minister or the Deputy Minister of Justice and Peace.
- The Minister of Health or the Director of the Institute on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (IAFA).
- The Director or Deputy Director of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).
- The Attorney General or Deputy Attorney General of the State.
