National Commission


The National Drug Council (CND) is a dependency of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic, created by Law 50-88, in 1988, with the aim of being the governing body of anti-drug prevention policies Improper use of drugs.

The main functions of the National Drug Council (CND) are:

  • Advise the Executive Branch on the problem of drugs in the Dominican Republic.
  • Design, review, develop and implement the strategy and national campaign against drug use, distribution and trafficking in the Dominican Republic.
  • Provide coordination of all public and private sectors to stop illicit drug trafficking at the national level.
  • Ensure the maintenance, protection and care of property seized for violation of law No.50-88 and its modifications.
