This important multilateral gathering was organized under the leadership of the City of Lugo, with the support of the Spain’s National Drug Commission (Ministry of Health and Social Policy), the Inter-American Development Bank, the Ministry of Justice of Spain (through the Secretary of State of Justice), the CARICOM Secretariat, the Provincial Council of Lugo, and other national and international institutions.

The Lugo Summit provided support for the social and citizen welfare objectives through innovation and social cohesion. More specifically, in the context of the challenges posed by the drug problem, the Summit focused on the debate on the formulation of public policy at the municipal and interagency levels for the incorporation of drug dependents into jobs and society, in a context of safety and citizenship.
