Description: |
CICAD
has been organizing training courses on drug abuse treatment and
rehabilitation throughout the English-speaking Caribbean since 1993.
Beginning, intermediate, and advanced-level courses are delivered via
national and regional workshops. Instruction includes counseling
techniques, pharmacology, the phases of addiction, relapse prevention,
substance abuse and HIV/AIDS, and the relationship between substance abuse
and domestic violence, among other issues. |
|
Objectives: |
To
provide training in all levels of substance abuse counseling and
treatment skills for professionals who are already interacting
with clients with substance abuse problems, but in need of
professional development for this task. |
