Project
Description: |
Since
1997, CICAD has been assisting member states to regulate the quality of
substance abuse treatment by implementing standards of care in drug
treatment. Once approved by the Ministries of Health and treatment
providers, these standards facilitate (1) the creation of a National
Registry of treatment programs and services, and (2) the accreditation and
periodic evaluation of existing centers and programs. Carefully monitored
standards of care offer substance abuse patients the best chance for
competent and humanitarian care leading to recovery.
|
|
Objectives: |
That each OAS member
state establish standards for substance abuse treatment. |
