Project
Description: |
This
program will involve Schools of Education distributed in
eighteen countries in Latin America; the National Drug
Commissions; the Ministries of Education; and will receive the
technical assistance of Schools of Nursing and Schools of Public
Health which work with CICAD projects in Latin America. This
program will replicate the experiences of Schools of Nursing and
Schools of Public Health in the Area of Demand Reduction. |

Objectives: |
The
general objective is to prepare a group of educators with
scientific knowledge and pedagogical abilities to teach aspects
of health promotion and prevention of drug use and abuse in the
three levels of educational systems in Latin America.
The
immediate objective is to support Schools of Education in the
process of including drug content in the undergraduate and
graduate curricula, giving emphasis to activities related to
health promotion and prevention of the use and abuse of drugs.
