Project
Description: |
CICAD,
together with Spain's National Drug Plan, provides training workshops and technical assistance to the
Ibero-American Network of NGOs working
in Drug Addiction (RIOD). CICAD has stressed the importance of such
collaboration between governments and RIOD's 51 civil society
organizations in carrying out demand reduction programs as part of each
member state's National Drug Strategy. RIOD gives NGOs the opportunity to apply for funding from the
Spanish government, as well as offering RIOD members in Latin America a
chance to work alongside Spanish NGOs and government experts.
|
|
Objectives: |
One of the network's goals is the
increased training of NGO staff working in substance abuse treatment and
prevention, as well as to promote NGO-government collaboration. |
