Project
Description: |
Success
in countredrug activities depends on the effective gathering and
analysis of information and the development of intelligence for
strategic planning and operational purposes. To this end, in 1999 CICAD
helped the Andean Community for Anti-drug Intelligence to establish the
Andean Community Regional Counterdrug Intelligence School (ERCAIAD).
ERCAIAD
is a specialized, multinational center of instruction for academic and
operational training in the field of anti-drug intelligence for police
personnel and members of other institutions involved in fighting drugs
in the member countries of the Andean Group for Anti-drug Intelligence
(Bolivia, Brazil, Chile Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela).
|
|
Objectives: |
- to enhance the capacity of officers from the members states to analyze
information and develop counterdrug intelligence
- to promote a more standardized approach or methodology among these
countries
- to promote cooperation and information exchange.
