Project Description:

CICAD organizes counterdrug training seminars  focusing on different skills or aspects of drug control. They can range from general drug enforcement or customs skills, to more specialized training in chemical detection and related officer safety.

CICAD draws on the technical expertise of professionals in the field from a variety of countries to deliver these training seminars. These technical experts bring the knowledge, expertise and perspectives of many countries thereby enriching the learning experience for the participants.

Training seminars can be focused nationally responding to the needs of a given member state or delivered at a sub-regional level. In some instances, CICAD works with other national or international organizations such as France’s Centre Interministeriel de Formation Anti-Drogue (CIFAD) located in Martinique. CICAD has also collaborated with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to deliver a unique 

Objectives:

  • to build on the knowledge and skills of counterdrug enforcement officers in member states
  • to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of counterdrug enforcement efforts in the hemisphere
