Costa Rican financial analysts get training
Additional training was provided to 38 bank compliance officers, the staff in charge of evaluating suspicious transactions and reporting them to Costa Rican FIU according to the parameters established by the government. The course also dealt with documentation techniques and due-diligence on suspicious transaction reports with the aim of producing better input for the analysis carried out by the FIU. This capability building effort is part of a project to create and strengthen FIUs in Central America. This project has similar capability-building workshops planned in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
