MEETING OF CARIBBEAN OBSERVATORIES ON DRUGS From Research to Policy to Practice

![]() CICAD Executive Secretary James Mack informs Grenadian Prime Minister Keith Mitchell about the meeting's progress. Mitchell had been unable to attend the opening session due to illness. The Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), an agency of the Organization of American States, along with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat convened a meeting of national drug observatories and a demand reduction training workshop during September 10 – 14 in St. George’s Grenada. The meeting of observatories is the second biennial meeting to take place and the first to include a training component for demand reduction practitioners. The meeting was themed ‘From Research to Policy to Practice’ and this embodied the following broad objectives:
