On April 11, 2008, the University of the Autonomous Regions of Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast (URACCAN) and the Executive Secretariat of CICAD undertook a joint initiative to encourage respect for the rule of law among students. The program, which will last three years, will establish the necessary foundation to adapt, implement and institutionalize an educational program to encourage the respect for the rule of law in the student body in Community Leadership Schools in the Autonomous Regions of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast.

The participating organization are the Community Leadership School in Bluefields and  the Miskitu and Sumu-Mayangna Leadership School in the district of Kamla in the municipality of Puerto Cabezas. During the first year, URACCAN and CICAD will adapt the content and methodology to meet the needs of the target community.

The director and a group of students of the Miskitu and Sumu-Mayangna Leadership School present a literary enactment from their Spanish lessons.
